MY BEAUTY SINS

SALLY HANSEN NAIL VARNISH REMOVER // TRESEMME HEAT DEFENCE STYLING SPRAY // JESSICA SIMPSON 'FANCY LOVE' BODY LOTION // RIMMEL KATE MOSS MATTE LIPSTICK IN KISS OF LIFE // RIMMEL KATE MOSS LIPSTICK IN SHADE 16 // RIMMEL KATE MOSS LIPSTICK IN SHADE 08 // TOPSHOP LIPSTICK IN BRIGHTON ROCK

After years of obsessively reading beauty blogs; I know what i should do to make myself look my best. I should, thread my eyebrows monthly, get a mani/pedi weekly, and cleanse, tone and moisturise daily. But, it's time to admit it, I am lazy.  While I find the time to do the things I consider a priority (I remove my makeup every day, without fail, regardless of how drunk tired I may be), some things I just can't be bothered with.

The first, is doing a proper DIY manicure/pedicure. Painting my nails is a chore at the best of times, but once you factor in cuticle creams, cuticle trimmers, foot soaks, and twenty different types of topcoat, forget it. I am definite polish and go kinda gal.

Second is body moisturising. Judging from all the new releases (Such as Vaseline Spray & Go and Nivea In Shower Moisturiser, which i reviewed here) designed to make this after-shower task a little less laborious, I'm not alone here. Who can be bothered to stand naked in a freezing room massaging in body butter that you know will take hours to dry?

Next up, heat protectant. I know, I know - we should all use it. I just forget because it's not a styling tool, it doesn't do anything. Well it does, but you can't tell, which is why it slips my mind. I really like this TRESemme spray whenever I use it though. I've just had my hair cut too, and I want to keep it looking healthy for as long as possible, so I'm putting this next to my straighteners in the hope that I use it more.

Lastly, and probably the worst sin for a beauty blogger, is my reluctance to experiment with lipsticks.I think it's common to get stuck in a 'makeup rut' and rely on the same products day to day. That's not a problem, if you're comfortable with that; but I love makeup because of it's versatility, so I'm trying to rotate the lipsticks in my makeup bag so I wear them more often.

Do you have any beauty-related tasks that you just can't be bothered with? Or do you have any solutions to help me with my laziness?

  1. my beauty sins are not removing nail varnish when it is incredibly chipped and not moisturising everyday, both habits which you are aware of haha
