THE HOLY GRAIL - ELIZABETH ARDEN EIGHT HOUR CREAM.

Apologies for my hideous unpainted nails(!)
I'm sure you'll have all heard of this; it is somewhat of a mythical, legendary product within the beauty community, but I still don't think it gets the applause or recognition it deserves.

My first encounter with this was aged around 13, and my mum layered a free sample on my acne-ridden cheeks and forehead. The cream doesn't claim to have spot-healing properties, but when I woke up my skin was much less sore, angry at red. I was hooked instantly. I bought my mum a tube for her birthday, and after I stole about a half of it, she bought me some of my own for Christmas, and I've never felt this way about a product before. It must be love, love, love

This product is kind of unappealing, in smell, colour and texture (though you can buy a fragrance free one); but these can be overlooked when you look at what the product can do. It claims to restore, calm and relieve chapped or irritated skin, and unlike most products, it actually delivers.

I haven't spoken too much about my skin on this blog yet, but it is extremely dry, blemish-prone, uber sensitive and can get a little oily throughout the day on my T-Zone. This product really soothes irritated skin, be it spots, burns (I spilt a boiling cup of tea down me last week and this helped massively with the blisters) an allergic reaction or extreme dryness (especially around eyes/lips/nose). If you have skin like mine (don't worry, we'll make it through this together) I'd recommend  this as a face mask, or mixing with your evening moisturiser; you'll wake up with unbelievably soft and clearer skin.

I adore this product, it's honestly one of the favourite skincare bits that I own, I'd never be without it and would recommend it to anyone. Especially at this price from all beauty.com (formerly cheap smells), 53% off!! It would be rude not to.

Have you tried Eight Hour Cream? What are your HG skincare pieces?

  3. I really want to give this a go, I've heard some amazing things - I'm just scared it will break me out in spots that I've fought so hard to get rid of!

Also, I just wanted to let you know that I've tagged you in the five word makeup tag here

    1. I've never seen it break anyone out, but I know what you mean. Do you know if any specific ingredients break you out (for me its some fragrances), it makes it much easier to buy things once you know the cause of the problem :) Thanks for the comment & the tag :) xx
