STYLING MID-LENGTH HAIR

TRESemme VOLUME AND LIFT NATURAL HOLD HAIRSPRAY // CHARLES WORTHINGTON VOLUME & BOUNCE TEXTURISING SPRAY // BATISTE DRY SHAMPOO // VO5 'GIVE ME TEXTURE' DRY TEXTURISING SPRAY // PRIMARK BACKCOMBING BRUSH

I’m sure I’m not the only one who has had a little, shall we say, miscommunication at the hairdressers. I popped in a few weeks back for a ‘generous trim’ (I’m talking 2/3 inches) and came out with a good 6 inches off. It didn’t bother me too much (it’s only hair, it always grows back) but when I got home I realised my new ‘long bob’ length was a little more difficult to style than my usual hair. Now I’ve had a few weeks to figure out how to style my new 'lob', I think I like it more than my longer locks (although when I am struggling to tie it up in a bun I have been known to pine for my long hair). These few products help to create my (now trademark) straight, messy, mid-length hair.

First, I backcomb using this brush from Primark to add volume to the roots. Next I use either VO5 Give Me texture or Batiste Dry Shampoo on the mid-lengths to add some movement, texture and ‘matteness’. Next, I use Charles Worthington texturizing spray (popular in the blogging world as a dupe for Oribe’s texturizing spray) which I adore for adding texture, volume and ‘messiness’. If I’m in a rush; I just quicky mist this over the roots, quickly massage in & I’m out the door. It smells heavenly too – I’d probably buy this for the smell alone. Finally I finish the whole thing off with a light mist of this TRESemme hairspray. I love this, the bottle lasts aaages (so it should – it’s huge) and keeps your hair styled, with no crispy or sticky finish.

Do you have any tips for styling troublesome mid-length hair?

    1. Aww thank you, I've teased for a while but it's only since getting this comb that I've learnt how to do it properly. The Charles Worthington spray really makes it though, i definitely recommend it. Thanks for your comment :)
