MUA CREAM BLUSH IN 'BLOSSOM' // MUA CREAM BLUSH IN 'YUMMY'
My
relationship with blushers is complicated. I need a good blusher, (otherwise
my face looks flat & lifeless) I just never buy them. I don’t tend to deviate much from my signature nudey/peachy blush
either (Natural Collection's Peach Melba is my HG), so the
inner makeup hoarder within me felt my collection needed expanding.
I didn’t
even know MUA did cream blushes, but when I saw these I couldn’t resist. I adore cream blushes, they’re
multi-purpose, can be applied without a brush, are perfect for summer (especially on my dry skin!) and they were only
£2. I know I probably picked up the two most neutral shades in the collection,
Blossom (a pale, pinky nude) & Yummy (a darker slightly coral nude), but
baby steps and all that.
I wasn’t
expecting much from these, but honestly they’re pretty perfect. Extremely creamy, blendable and dry to a semi-matte
finish. They’re uber pigmented too, and can be blended to sheer the colour out
or built upon for a stronger colour. As with most cream blushes, they don’t
last as long as powders, though I think the staying power is decent, especially
considering the price. Though I would suggest setting with a powder blusher
(MUA do a matching powder collection) if lasting power is important to you.
On their
own, these blushes are good value for money, but I love them because they can
also double up as a cream-to-matte lip colour. Blossom makes a gorgeous everyday
milky nude and Yummy is a lovely ‘my lips but better’ shade. The blushes are
not marketed as lip colours, so they are a little drying and can look ‘powdery’
on the lips, so I’d definitely recommend prepping the lips with a scrub and a
balm beforehand.
In short,
these blushes represent amazing value
for money. They’re a lovely formula, cheap and versatile, and I think everyone
needs at least one in their handbag. I’m definitely going to buy more of these
(I’d love one in a contour shade), and at £2 a pop, I can afford to
experiment!!
Are you like
me when it comes to blushers or do you have any HG blushes I need to try?
Woah I can't believe how inexpensive these are, definitely going to pick one up myself :)
