THE BUDGET BUY: GARNIER MICELLAR CLEANSING WATER

 GARNIER MICELLAR CLEANSING WATER
I know that this is a pretty extreme confession to make on a beauty blog; but I don’t like micellar waters. I know – I’m sorry. I tried a bottle of Bioderma and just, didn’t get the hype. I thought it did a fairly half-assed job of removing my base makeup and I had to tug at my mascara for ages it to remove anything (and waterproof mascara – forget it). I thought micellar waters were overpriced overhyped and unnecessarily difficult to obtain. My heart belonged to oil and balm cleansers that were far quicker and easier to use.
I did notice the hype surrounding this Garnier Bioderma ‘dupe’ in the beauty sphere, but I didn’t plan on picking it up (due to my hatred to micellar waters) until I saw it in Savers for £1.99. At that price – it had to be worth a try. I’m so glad I picked it up – because honestly, it’s love.
I use it as the second step in my nightly ‘triple cleanse’, after face wipes (I use these from Tesco) and before a cleansing balm (I usually use Liz Earle’s Cleanse & Polish) & I think it’s such an important step in my routine. I know I shouldn’t use face wipes, I just don’t want to go through my pricey cleansing balms twice as fast.
The micellar water is perfect for removing all the makeup that my makeup wipes don’t; it’s uber gentle, refreshing, doesn’t tug and just wipes away everything with such ease. If I can’t be bothered to wash my face in the morning, I just quickly wipe this over everything and I feel clean & refreshed. It lasts aaages too – I’ve been using this bottle everyday for around about two months and I haven’t even used half of it yet – incredible value.
My views on micellar waters have certainly changed, although I’m not planning on repurchasing the famous Bioderma anytime soon – this Garnier dupe is cheaper, easier to find and is much more gentle. What more could you want?
Have you tried micellar cleansing waters, what are your thoughts?

  4. 100% agree with you, Garnier micellar water is amazing! I was really skeptical about them before as I just thought it was overpriced water but it really is brilliant. It is a firm staple in my skin care routine now.
